James Hislop

James A. Hislop co-founded Penske Capital Partners in 1997 and subsequently TRP Capital Partners (www.trpfund.com). These firms have raised five investment funds since 1997 and led over $1 billion of primarily control equity investments in the transportation industry. In 2021, Mr. Hislop co-founded Vantage Point Partners (“VPP”), an affiliate of Skyview Investment Advisors, LLC (“Skyview” – www.skyviewadv.com). VPP is a network of family offices pursuing proprietary investments.

Mr. Hislop was formerly a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch, where he managed Fortune 500 and mid-cap company relationships in the United States. He joined Merrill Lynch in 1979 after receiving his BSBA degree from Bucknell University and holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from New York University.

Mr. Hislop served on the Board of Directors of Penske Corporation for 20 years and on portfolio company Boards from 1997 thru 2019. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Endurance Warranty Sales, Tire Group International, Quality Liaison Services, and Genox Corporation.

Outside of his professional activities, Mr. Hislop is the Vice Chairman of Lumen Institute. He served as Managing Director of Lumen Institute from 2014 to 2000 and as President of the NY Area Chapter of Lumen Institute from 2008 to 2012. Mr. Hislop served as a Trustee for Ken Place School from 2009 thru 2015 and as Chairman of the Finance Committee in 2014 and 2015. Mr. Hislop Co-Founded the 911 Community Memorial Foundation in 2001. He is a volunteer pilot with Mercy Flights Southeast, Angel flights Northeast and Patient Airlift Services. Mr. Hislop is a Co-Founder of The Hislop Family Foundation, which primarily benefits “Children, Cancer Research, Christianity, and organizations assisting individuals with Cerebral Palsy.”
