Fr. John Connor, LC

Fr. John Connor, LC, is currently the Superior General of the Legionaries of Christ worldwide. He currently resides in Rome, Italy.
Fr. John was born and raised in Severna Park, Maryland, and is the youngest of eight children. After finishing high school, he earned a degree in finance from Loyola University in Maryland before entering the Legionaries of Christ novitiate in Cheshire, Connecticut. He went on to receive a degree from the Center for Classical Humanities and Sciences in Salamanca, Spain, and degrees in philosophy and theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, Italy.
In 2001, Fr. John was ordained to the priesthood and in 2003 helped found the Lumen Institute. The Lumen Institute is an apostolate that seeks to respond to a critical need for faith-based formation for business leaders and their families, by providing human, spiritual, intellectual, and apostolic formation.
Before being appointed as the superior general in February 2020, Fr. John was the territorial director of the North American Territory, Fr. John served as the Regnum Christi director for the greater New York metropolitan region from 2004 through 2009. In 2010, he was named territorial director of the Atlanta Territory and then from 2011 through 2014 served as the assistant territorial director for apostolate for North America. He has also served in a variety of other areas as well, including retreat director, spiritual director, and also fundraising and development for the Legionaries of Christ and Regnum Christi.
