Fr. Mark Haydu, LC

Fr. Mark has a distinguished career with the Legionaries of Christ. He joined the congregation in 1993 after serving as a missionary in Guatemala and Mexico. He was ordained a priest in St Mary Major Basilica in Rome in 2007. His first priestly ministry was for nine years as the International Coordinator of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, based in Rome at the Vatican from 2007 to 2016. 

He comes to Lumen with ample experience and a proven track record for success in working with leaders throughout the world. In his role, Fr. Mark led the International Patrons’ affiliates growth from 14 to 29 chapters while membership increased from 1,200 to over 2,300 members worldwide throughout 11 countries.

Fr. Mark has two undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Theology plus two licentiate degrees (STL) in Political Moral Philosophy and Christian Moral Theology all from the Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome. Fr. Mark also served on the Formation Team in the Legionary Seminary in Rome from 2002 to 2009 and then as spiritual director from 2009 to 2016.  

He is a published author of multiple books and articles, and his book “Meditations on Vatican Art” was an Amazon best seller.
